In the years 1843-1849. arch. A.P. Hemilian built the buildings of the New Arsenal on the territory of the former State Particular Shipyard, which was transferred here from the Foundry. In this regard, the coastal strip of the Neva in the areas along the new plant was called Arsenalnaya embankment, and the transverse road, going from the Neva to the north, became known as Arsenalnaya Street
The new complex was built in accordance with a single plan and was located almost opposite the old one: the convenience of moving heavy equipment through the water was taken into account.

The buildings are built in a classic style. Brick facades are rhythmically divided by semicircular arched windows
The main production was located between Neva and Simbirskaya st. (now Komsomol St.).
Here are locksmith, soldering and carriage workshops, the buildings of which formed a rectangle in plan, flanked on the sides by the buildings of warehouses (shops).

On the opposite side of the street, two long buildings were erected - the officer corps and a woodworking workshop. Between the gates, in front of which there was previously a monument to Peter I, and now a bust of M.V. The fence and gate are made of gun trunks.
At the end of the XIX century, the development of the plant required expansion inland towards the railway. Brick-style buildings were built there.
